Spiritual care for your soul: OUR MISSION
Mercy Center is a ministry of the Sisters of Mercy of the Americas, an order of Catholic women religious. Mercy Center was established in 1981 in Burlingame, California, as a retreat center and a conference center for religious and other nonprofit organizations.
Mercy Center provides opportunities for people to become more attentive to the presence of the Divine in their lives and in the world, and then respond with care for the Earth and service to others, especially people who are poor and vulnerable.
Private Retreats
Private Retreats provide time in a supportive and contemplative atmosphere, with opportunities for prayer and spiritual direction. Please submit an inquiry form to see what dates we have available.

We offer Taizé prayer service online and in-person at the Mercy Center Burlingame chapel every 1st Friday of the month at 8pm.
Karen Kosciolek
Interim Executive Director
Karen served for 12 years as the executive director of Mercy Spirituality Center in Rochester, New York, and has been a Mercy associate for 12 years. Prior to joining the Mercy family, Karen served as the Chief Operating Officer for the Girl Scouts of Genesee Valley in Western New York. She holds a BS in not-for-profit management from Medaille College in Buffalo, New York. When not working, Karen enjoys spending time with her family, cooking and golfing.
